Paperback Post was born in May 2024 but this journey began much earlier than that.

Much like many book-loving millennials, I was huge reader as a kid. My love started with mystery novels - most notably the Stevie Diamond Mysteries and Nancy Drew! Then came the Vampire Diaries and Twilight, mixed with sappy romances and any Jodi Picoult novel. And then enter UNIVERSITY. I truly stopped reading for many years until I discovered self-help books and non-fiction. Needless to say, these pushed me further into a reading slump that persisted for many years.

Queue the post-pandemic world, the lack of community, and feeling totally lost. As an artistic person, I was craving the need for creativity and seeking a way to connect with others. That is when my husband, Nik encouraged me to pursue my artistic dream.

In 2022, I launched Torly Creative Co., a handmade greeting card shop. The joy that a simple handwritten note can bring has never been lost on me, and I wanted to encourage others to stay connected and bring back that sense of community.

Torly Creative Co began to expand and I introduced apparel, stickers, and bookmarks. Many of my products had book-related designs - an ode to the thing I always loved. And finally... I picked up Fourth Wing and never looked back.

I found my way back to two things I love most - reading and art, and in that, I’ve finally found my community. Torly Creative Co. became Paperback Post in May 2024, focussing exclusively on bookish merch!

Nik and I find so much joy in creating together and you'll find pieces of us both - from my drawings to Nik's creative ideas - in all of our hand drawn, original designs featured on our apparel and stationery. Everything in our shop is 100% original and handmade by us!

I am also SO grateful to be officially licensed by one of my favourite authors, Penn Cole, with more licensed partnerships in the works.
